BSA Sungkai

BSA sungkai is a yearly event which is held for us to get together. This year, it is kind of different where intead of potluck, Bruneians in NZ cooked for the meal together. An ideal way to strengthen relationships among us. I would say the food was splendid not forgetting the awesome beverage, 'Puspa'.

The Sungkai was held at Clubs and Socs and following that, Terawih was performed, led by our Religious Officer, Mujeeb.

I would like to wish all Muslims 'Happy Fasting' during this Holy month of Ramadhan.

Kitchen 1, this was where they cook Bihun and Vegies.

A thumb up, by the Bihun cook.

Badminton Tourney

The first ever badminton tourney for the BSA was held, and honestly this event is quite popular among the BSA members. It was held last week, and I presume most of my colleagues have posted the tourney's pictures.

4 categories were competed: mens' single, womens' single, womens' double and mixed double. The champions for each category are: Raymond, Sharon, Zie and Shareen, and Dibah and Jon. There was no mens' double due to the limited number of BSA male members.

Thank you for those who participated and congratulation for those who have won.

Among of the spiritual players.

Raymond and Lai, competing to get into the semi finals.

Aeda and Wen, first runner up for their category.

Zie and Shareen, champion for the womens' double.

Shareen stretching up before the finals.

The umpire.

The second umpire.

A bad example umpire; should have concentrated on the game.

Our president, Alai Ragat.

One way to celebrate getting a point.

The pressure was more tense for this final match.

The mens' sinlgle finalist. 'It is just a game', says the loser.
